You may be wondering what the hype is all about in regards to Yoga. Does it really help? If so what exactly does it help with? This article is here to explain exactly why Yoga is extremely beneficial!
Can Lessen Stress: Yoga has been known to decrease stress by bettering your mood, as well as, in some cases, battling depression and anxiety. A study was conducted on 24 women for 3 months to show the effects of yoga; these women saw themselves as emotionally distressed. The results showed that after a 3 month Yoga program, the levels of stress, fatigue, anxiety and depression in the women decreased.
2. Improved Sleep: A study conducted in 2013 aimed to see how Yoga would impact quality of life and sleep on 120 elderly participants. The study revealed that the participants had a better quality of life and improved quality of sleep, showing just how impactful Yoga can be.
3. Can Improve Flexibility & Balance: Those who practice Yoga routinely have credited it to improving their balance and flexibility. A study done in 2013 found that elderly participants who took part in a 12-week Yoga program had improved balance and flexibility.
There are clearly numerous benefits to practicing Yoga. Not only does it do wonders for your body, but it also helps your mind. Mental Health is just as crucial as physical health, and the studies that back up the fact that Yoga improves ones mental health says a lot.
